Description of organisation:
One Nottingham is the city’s strategic partnership, bringing together the public, private, voluntary, community and faith sectors to work for change in the city. One Nottingham works to find innovative ways to share success across Nottingham, with the people and communities who live work and study in the city. The reason that we exist is to promote collaborative working for the good of all of Nottingham and to communicate across the complex web of agencies and sectors, all striving for a common aim – to make Nottingham the very best that it can be.
Our overall ambition is set in the Nottingham Plan to 2020 – which outlines where we want our city to be in the future. We have a long term vision for the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of Nottingham.
One Nottingham is a massive network and partnership including individuals and organisations in the city. The ON Board is made up of senior City Councillors, representatives of business and other public sector agencies. Our voluntary and community sector board members are elected by a wide postal ballot of all VCS organisations active in Nottingham
The One Nottingham team organise consultation events, through One Nottingham Learning Network events to update and share with partners developments and partner experience in different aspects of city life. We commission occasional films and publish a regular bulletin.
We celebrate and promote Nottingham its people and their businesses, we create opportunities for people and organisations to thrive and to reach their potential. In recent years ON has pump prime funded innovative work and co-ordinated significant funding bids.
There are twice yearly forums on major strategic and cross cutting areas affecting Nottingham life. These have included:
- World Class Nottingham
- Inspiring and supporting the aspirations of Young People.
- Good Growth
- Green Jobs and Green Tech in Nottingham.
- Details of events are publicised on the One Nottingham website and through our mailing list and bulletin, which goes to a wide range of partners.
One Nottingham also supports and organises the Young Creative Awards, with the active involvement and financial support of businesses, colleges and Universities. The Young Creative Awards has an annual theme with an awards event in May each year.
