We need your help!

Nottingham has been chosen as one of only four places in the UK to take part in a groundbreaking three-year national research study into how the arts and culture can play its part in shaping people’s lives, neighbourhoods, communities and places – and now we need your help to get the debate up and running!

The Inquiry is being carried out by the world-renowned Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in partnership with arts and cultural organisations and networks around the UK and will be very influential in changing how arts organisations engage with the public and the places they’re located in.

Get involved

This is your chance to get talking about how arts, cultural and heritage organsiations play a role in society. We want to get people discussing the different ways in which organisations play this kind of role in the city and the neighbourhoods, in our civic spaces.

We’re launching a campaign called #artforallnottm on 17 October – to make sure everyone in Nottingham gets the chance to have their say. The campaign will include debates on local media, as well as via social media, and that’s where you come in!

I already feel alienated from this whole process. I don’t use twitter and have no desire to use it. I know a lot of people involved in, or interested in the arts but who make minimal use of social media. I am a painter, sculptor, designer, poet and have been involved in community arts and regional arts bodies in the past – I have got stuff to say – but not via twitter…
