The ‘Design hub’ of the Enabling Innovation programme at Nottingham Trent University is offering architectural SME practices based in the D2N2 area (Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire) the opportunity to explore the possibilities of 3D printed Ceramics.
Learn OpportunitiesThe services provided by the Enabling Innovation programme are fully-funded and FREE to access for eligible SME businesses.
This process is suitable for generating architectural models, full-scale details, and components.
Ceramics is a robust material that offers a more attractive surface aesthetic compared to typical plastic filaments. The result is a robust, hard-wearing object that can be finished with myriad surface colours, patterns, and finishes. These may be used for themselves, or to simulate the actual materials used in construction.
We have in-house facilities for 3d printing paste clay and access to facilities for 3d printing more complicated geometries from clay powders. All we need is a 3D model file, exportable from many native CAD software packages. We are to happy work directly with architectural practices to produce digital geometry files suitable for the wet or dry 3D printing process. Below are some examples of 3D printed ceramics.
