National Apprenticeship Week 2019 is 4 to 8 March. The theme is Blaze a Trail. Jack Pearce is blazing a trail in the world of fine dining. He's going from strength to strength, first as an apprentice at a renowned restaurant and now as a Chef de Partie.
Learn NewsJack completed his professional cookery apprenticeship at the award-winning World Service restaurant with Nottingham College in 2017. Jack has since continued his career in the kitchen, first as a Commis Chef and now as a Chef de Partie at World Service. He’s aiming high and working his way up in the industry, and already has an award under his belt.
“I really enjoyed my apprenticeship and I learnt so much. I found that I was always doing new things. I’ve always been really passionate about becoming a chef, so learning on the job, whilst doing my apprenticeship was ideal for me.”
Jack PearceIn January 2019, Jack won the Best Young Talent (Back of House) award at the Nottingham Restaurant & Bar awards, held at Colwick Hall.
Jack said:
"I was really happy when I won the award and it's opened a lot of doors for me".
Jack had a few words to say about his assessor at Nottingham College, Mark. He said: “Thanks for all the training and support at College. I couldn’t have done it without you”!
