Makers make ‘Connections’ With Twin City
In July 2019 a delegation of five artist makers from the Design Nation Nottingham regional group travelled to Karlsruhe to exhibit beside fellow German artist makers of the GEDOK artist group in a collaborative Exhibition marking the 50 years of Twin City status. As part of this collaboration five German artist makers are invited to take part in a reciprocal showcase in Nottingham during October 2019. Nine Nottinghamshire artist makers along with five guest artist makers from Karlsruhe will be exhibiting at Nottingham Lakeside Arts in the Gallery Shop, at the University of Nottingham.

The most consistent result of the mechanization of our apparatus of perception is probably the reduction to the digital state of being / non-being.
Three artistic approaches make reference to this by varying the viewer’s perspective and scaling it, between technological apparatus and sensory organ, into the object. The artwork assumes the role of transmitter, leading the apparatus, and distilling the potentials of transhuman formation back into the human realm of the perceivable, leaving faint notions of the grandeur of universal being and its manifold subtexts.
All welcome to join the artists and guests for the opening events on Saturday 5th October, 10.30am at 38 Carrington Street, followed by 11.30am at the Central Library.
