October 26th 2018

From 24th Oct to 18th Nov, City Arts, Creative Quarter, Hockley Hustle and Blend are hosting a programme of arts & entertainment in a beautiful geodesic dome at Sneinton Market Avenues.
Life AnnouncementsMainly in November, the first NOfest is celebrating the rich stream of creativity that is running through Sneinton Market with a series of events and happenings that are affordable, and accessible, for all.
As part of the lead up to the weekend there will be a variety of activities in and around the dome, some linked to peace and others not. The idea is to generate a sense of place in Sneinton Market Avenues that is culturally alive and a draw for people to congregate and enjoy cultural opportunities that are accessible and affordable.
The centrepiece is a programme City Arts have developed to run alongside a national art project called ‘A Paper Peace’ which will be in Nottingham over the weekend of 17th & 18th November. The focus of this project is the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and how peace was communicated.
There is an opportunity to project onto the Dome at night and City Arts would like to invite local film makers to send their work to them in order that it can be screened.
Films should be on, or respond to, the theme of ‘peace’. They will be shown between 25 October – 18 November 2018.
Their aim is to raise the profile of film makers by offering outdoor screenings, and to challenge people’s notion of ‘peace’, whether in relation to war or not.
If you have a film that you think would fit their theme of peace in all its forms and guises please send them a shared link that they can view. They will then contact you should your film be chosen to be screened. Films need to be no longer than 5 mins. Applications need to be submitted by 12 noon on Monday 5 November to info@city-arts.org.uk
The City Arts Dome
Blend Coffee Shop will expand into the dome for a few weeks and they are programming an exciting mix of live entertainment. The CQ will be showcasing the work of Big House artists, businesses and entrepreneurs. A number of other activities are planned already - but it’s not too late to get involved.
