Work OpportunitiesNingbo is a city on China’s Eastern coast with a population of 8m and close to Shanghai. It hosts the campus for the University of Nottingham in China and is twinned with Nottingham City. Academic, business and civic links with the UK thrive, making Ningbo a really accessible city in which to do business. There is already significant co-operation between the creative industry sectors in Ningbo and the UK.

In 2016, the Ningbo Cultural Industries Fair attracted around 116,000 visitors over the 4 day event, including approximately 30,000 business visitors. Approximately 7billionRMB (£700m) of trade deals were concluded and the organisers are looking to build on this success.
Delegates will get the opportunity to:
Participate in the fair as an exhibitor in the Midlands Engine pavilion to showcase products/services/technologies
Engage with Chinese businesses and industry experts in Ningbo to understand the opportunities for creative industry cooperation in the UK and China.

This mission is led by a Nottingham City Council-based team which has established deep, long-term links between the UK and China and has led many successful trade missions. The team has relationships with Ningbo Government which are critical in enabling fruitful industry discussions. Language and cultural support is provided from both local and UK based staff.
*small/medium businesses that have not joined previous Midlands Engine missions to China will take priority. Businesses that have previously joined Midlands Engine missions to China, Universities and larger companies are expected to self-fund the trip. All arrangements are subject to Ningbo government approval.
Businesses in the creative and digital sector with high-quality products and services and a desire to sell into China are encouraged to attend. Businesses with products and services in the visitor economy sector are also encouraged.
