Ugly Art Club is a relaxed space to bring your sketchbook, make friends, drink tea, and free yourself of any pressure to make 'perfect' art.
At each club we will have guests artists demonstrating fun techniques to try. This club will be ran by 1525 member and artist Ryan Boultbee. Responding to the work of American sculptor Diane Simpson, we'll be encouraged to experiment by creating three-dimensional forms using cardboard and paperclips. We will be exploring the themes of Balance and Complex Depth that are raised in Simpson's works, as well as broader questions like how we utilise space, light and elemental relationships in compositions.
