A disillusioned 23-year-old evangelist preacher finds himself ejected from a controlling cult. He lands on the ecstasy-fuelled dance floors of 90’s clubland. Shunned by his family, and everyone that he knows, he is not prepared for what lies ahead.
In 1976 Sean’s world changes forever. He is dragged into a doomsday cult, by parents who are struggling to find their own identities. He and his family are brainwashed into believing the end of the world is nigh. The route to salvation is not as it seems…
One Foot In The Rave is the award-winning debut verse play from performance poet Alexander Rhodes. The show is an energetic mix of agony and total ecstasy. Set to a backdrop of remixed club classics, Alexander moves effortlessly between the characters and scenes, delivering the chemical highs and pitiful lows.
Expect: Wry observations, chemically induced inspirations and twisted logic.
"A sharp, confident performer with excellent material" - Attila The Stockbroker
"Alexander Rhodes done the business supporting me on tour. He belongs on the stage" - Luke Wright
