18:00 - 21:00 GMT
WHAT IS IT?
These workshops are FREE to individuals and small businesses in the creative and digital industries and based in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire.
There are different elements to the workshops, giving you a wide range of experiences in music making and getting your sounds out there. There are 4 x 3hr weekly workshops at the Baby People Sneinton Market studio.
WHO IS IT FOR?
These workshops are for anyone between the ages of 16 and 25 with an interest in making urban music and making it in the music industry. Whether you are at school, college or university, making tracks alongside working another job, or already working as an artist, this is a chance to develop your skills with urban music artists working as producers, MCs, rappers and sound engineers – and who have experience of working in the industry.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Workshop 1: Music Recording, Production and Song Writing
Workshop 2: Branding, Marketing and Promotion
Workshop 3: Music Business and Industry
Workshop 4: Getting Performances and Performance Skills
Plus you will complete a:
Research Task: Attend the Young Hustle event on the 28 October 2018 to research what a successful youth music event looks like. You will asked to report on specific aspects of the day and to draw general conclusions on how best to plan, promote and run a music event for young people. This will be fed back at the last workshop of the series and used to inform your event.
Group Event Challenge: Working collaboratively and putting the knowledge from the workshops into practice, the workshop participants will put on a music event in Nottingham in November or December. With support from other participants and the workshop tutor, you will have to decide what kind of event it is, how to promote it, find the venue and run the night.
WHEN AND WHERE?
The workshops are taking place from 6-9pm, every Tuesday from 9 October for four weeks at Baby People Sneinton Market. There is also an independent research task & a group event challenge to complete outside of the workshop hours.
You must attend a minimum of three out of the four sessionsto participate in the group event challenge. If you are unable to do so, please email us directly. Please register for each workshop separately.
